RE:  Internet Safety—Summer 2011

The month of June has traditionally been known as National Safety Month.  In 2007, the United States Congress passed a resolution to draw special attention to Internet Safety.   With summer around the corner, June provides an opportunity for teachers to reinforce some basic safety guidelines.  It also provides an opportunity to draw connections to the Child Lures Program which is a mandated part of the curriculum in Catholic elementary schools in Brooklyn and Queens.  The Computer/Online Lure is just one of the many lures that are part of the Child Lures Program and only one of many resources to help students learn how to ward off danger and thereby keep themselves safe.  The links below contain additional resources for teachers, parents and students to help raise awareness about Internet safety and safety in general.
